Borenius’ Carbon Footprint for 2023
We have now successfully calculated our carbon emissions for 2023. This initiative is part of our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
Carbon footprint calculation
In 2023, our total carbon footprint was calculated to be 702 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents (t CO2e). The largest source of emissions was identified as Scope 3, which accounted for approximately 98% of the total emissions, with purchased goods and services being the most significant category. The carbon footprint per employee was approximately 3.5 t CO2e.
Our efforts to manage our carbon footprint is guided by the International Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards, ensuring systematic and accurate calculations.
Initiating preparations for CSRD reporting
In alignment with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), we have commenced our internal preparations for the reporting obligations that will take effect in 2026.
A critical component of our preparation is the development of a materiality analysis that will serve as the foundation for our new strategy and targets, enabling us to identify and prioritise the ESG issues that are most significant to our business and stakeholders. This marks a significant step in our journey towards enhanced corporate responsibility and accountability.
