Borenius Recognises International Day of Persons with Disabilities
As one of the Finnish Paralympic Committee’s long-term main partners, we aim to raise awareness of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated today on 3 December.
This year's theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future,” underscores the importance of empowering persons with disabilities to lead and shape the conditions of their lives, echoing the global disability rights movement’s slogan, “Nothing About Us Without Us”.
Another well-known campaign linked to this important topic is the WeThe15 campaign, a global initiative led by the International Paralympic Committee. WeThe15 is a decade-long movement that aims to place persons with disabilities at the forefront of the diversity agenda, fostering social inclusion and dismantling barriers that hinder their full participation in society. The campaign's name highlights the 15% of the global population – approximately 1.2 billion people – living with a disability.
Our pro bono partnership agreement with the Finnish Paralympic Committee is extended to 2028, and we continue to work together towards a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.
