Bolstering Borenius’ New York Team and Capital Markets Practice with New Counsel Benjamin Tuiskula
We are happy to welcome Benjamin Tuiskula as a Counsel in our New York team and Capital Markets practice!
Benjamin’s appointment is a further reflection of our investment in assisting Finnish companies looking to enter or expand in the United States. Our goal is to be the first point of call for Finnish companies that plan to enter or expand in the United States. In many matters, we work with specialist co-counsel in the U.S. whom we know well, which enables us to provide smooth and cost-efficient execution for most of the legal needs that Finnish companies have when entering or operating in the United States. Our US counsel network is broad, covering nearly all states and practice areas, and it is something we have heavily invested in over a long period of time. We are unique in the sense that we are able to offer US law services to our clients locally and in a clear and a cost-efficient manner as well as to explain them in a Finnish context.
Benjamin joins Borenius from White & Case’s Helsinki office, where he has practiced securities and corporate law for more than 12 years. Benjamin commenced his career at the New York office of Sullivan & Cromwell in 2008 and spent the first two years of his career in their General Practice group. Benjamin has been admitted to practice law in New York since 2009.
Benjamin’s appointment coincides well with M&A Partner Janko Lindros joining us from White & Case in June 2023. Janko has recent M&A experience in representing Finnish companies acquiring businesses in the U.S.
With Janko and Benjamin on our team, we are even more ideally positioned to help our clients succeed in their US endeavors whether they deal with market entry or expansion in the U.S. organically or through M&A.
On the Capital Markets side, Benjamin has broad experience representing issuers and underwriters in transactions involving equity and debt capital markets not only in Finland and the broader Nordic region but also across Europe. In addition to drafting disclosure, Benjamin possesses extensive experience in the transactional aspects of capital markets transactions. This includes skilful negotiation of underwriting agreements, formulation of auditor comfort packages, provision of legal opinions and handling of other transactional documents.
Welcome onboard, Benjamin!
