Borenius Appoints Johan Roman as Managing Partner

Borenius has appointed Johan Roman as its new Managing Partner, effective from 1 June 2024. Johan joined the firm in 2004 and has been Partner since 2014. Prior to stepping into the role of Managing Partner, Johan headed the firm’s M&A and Private Equity team, and in his new role Johan will continue advising our clients in demanding M&A projects. Johan succeeds Casper Herler, who has completed his second term and will continue to head the firm’s leading cross-practice area focusing on large industrial investments and green transition projects.

I’m delighted to share the news of Johan’s appointment as Managing Partner. Through Johan's enthusiasm and energy, Borenius will intently continue to implement its growth strategy. I would also, on behalf of all of us at Borenius, like to thank Casper for his extraordinary leadership over the last eight years. Casper's contribution to developing Borenius' strategy and culture has been immense. Now that large green-transition-related investments are growing significantly in importance, we are eager to see Casper develop our leading practice in this field on a full-time basis,” comments Samuli Simojoki, Chair of the Board.

“It’s a great privilege to be asked to undertake this role. During my 20 years with the firm, I have seen tremendous transition and growth. As we move forward, we are committed to remaining the preferred partner for our clients, in both legal and strategic advice. This requires a proactive approach to staying ahead of significant trends within our clients’ industries, exploring technological advancements, such as AI, and fostering our great relationships with law firms in key foreign markets," says Johan Roman.
