About Joona
Joona advises clients on technology, data, intellectual property, and financial services regulation.
Joona also assists clients with commercial contracts and other matters related to technology and intellectual property, including data-oriented commercial contracts. In addition, he has been involved in patent litigation matters.
Joona further specialises in modern data regulation, including data privacy and EU’s Big 5 acts, particularly the Data Act and the AI Act.
In terms of financial services regulation, Joona focuses on payment services as well as authorisation and notification processes that involve supervisory authorities. He also assists clients in preparing for upcoming EU regulation, including PSD3 and PSR.
Joona joined Borenius as an Associate in 2020, after working as a trainee at the firm and at another Finnish business law firm.
In addition to his studies at the University of Helsinki, Joona has studied law at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
