We advised Hankkija Oy on the acquisition of the agricultural trade business of SSO Rauta-Maatalous Oy. The acquired business consists of grain trade and agricultural production supplies. The transaction involved complex matters related to merger control.

SSO Rauta-Maatalous is part of the Suur-Seudun Osuuskauppa SSO, a regional S Group cooperative that engages in supermarket and department store trade as well as service station store and fuel sales. The cooperative also has operations in the travel and hospitality industry in addition to owning car dealerships. The cooperative operates its business at over 80 locations.

Hankkija is a nationwide store and service chain that sells agriculture-related products, machinery and hardware in addition to gardening supplies. Hankkija is also the leading compound feed producer and grain trader in Finland.
