Borenius advised Metso on EUR 150 million investment in a modern technology center in Tampere

Our Projects & Construction team advised Metso Corporation on the development of its modern technology center, which will be built in the Lahdesjärvi area of Tampere, Finland.

The new technology center will feature state-of-the-art modern manufacturing operations and lead the way in meeting the most demanding sustainability and environmental objectives. Once finished, the site will host over 900 Metso employees working in Tampere.

The construction works related to the first phase of the investment will begin in July 2024 and span over three years, covering the construction of assembly and testing facilities for the manufacturing of mobile crushers and storage facilities for components and materials used in aggregates equipment. The entire technology center is expected to be fully completed by the mid-2030s. In the future, Metso will design, test and manufacture technologies, equipment and components for the production of aggregates and sand in Lahdesjärvi.
