Borenius advised OX2 on the sale of the 145 MW Niinimäki wind farm

We advised OX2 on the sale of the 145 MW Niinimäki wind farm located in Pieksämäki, Finland, to the Finnish energy company Helen and Bank of Åland’s Wind Power Fund. Construction of the Niinimäki wind farm comprising 22 turbines will begin immediately, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The annual energy production of the wind farm will be more than 400 GWh. Once commissioned, OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the project under a 15-year agreement, optimising the production and supervising the operations.

OX2 develops, constructs, and sells onshore and offshore windfarms and solar PV farms. OX2 also offers management of wind and solar farms after completion. OX2’s project development portfolio consists of in-house developed as well as acquired wind and solar projects in various phases of development. The company is also active in developing projects based on other renewable energy technologies, such as hydrogen and energy storage. OX2 operates on eleven markets in Europe: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, France, Spain, Italy and Greece. Its sales in 2021 were about SEK 5 billion. The company has about 350 employees and it is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. OX2 has been listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 2022.
