Borenius advised Sponsor Capital on the formation of their fifth buyout fund

We advised Sponsor Capital on the formation of their fifth fund, Sponsor Fund V, that raised EUR 202 million both from domestic and international institutional investors. Taking into account the co-investment by Sponsor Capital’s partners, the total investment capacity of the fund is EUR 216 million. Regardless of the extraordinary market situation, the fundraising was completed within the planned time schedule, with a single closing and above the target size.

The Fund will commence its investment activities by Q1/2021 and continue the investment strategy of its predecessor funds i.e. by making majority investments mainly in mid-sized Finnish companies.

Since its inception in 1997, Sponsor Capital has raised nearly EUR 800 million to its funds and invested in 31 Finnish companies.
