Borenius advised the S-Bank Property fund on the lease of Hotel Katajanokka to Strawberry

We advised S-Bank Property Non-UCITS Fund, a fund managed by S-Bank Fund Management, on the lease of the Hotel Katajanokka hotel property to Strawberry. The hotel property features 106 rooms and is located on the Katajanokka island in downtown Helsinki.

The hotel is characterised by its original function as a prison dating back to 1837. In 2002, this well-known prison was closed and the last prisoner was released. Five years later, after extensive remodelling, the property was transformed into a hotel and once again filled with people. Prison cells, water, and bread were replaced with a variety of guests and inviting restaurant dishes.

The main hall, the outer shell, and the surrounding red brick walls are protected by the National Museum.

Today, Hotel Katajanokka is a modern lifestyle hotel.
