Borenius is advising Cobbleyard Real Estate on the contemplated acquisition of Pohjoisesplanadi 19 (Uschakoff House)

We are currently advising Cobbleyard Real Estate on the acquisition of a landmark office and retail building from the City of Helsinki, the historic Pohjoisesplanadi 19, also known as the “Uschakoff House”, located in Helsinki city centre.

Originally built in 1815–1816, the Uschakoff House is one of the oldest remaining buildings in Helsinki and part of its protected built heritage, reflecting its remarkable architectural and historical value. It was formerly used for the City’s administrative operations, with its ground-floor currently occupied by a café. The contemplated acquisition is planned to take place through an arrangement involving a land lease agreement and the sale and purchase of the building as well as an option to acquire the land.

The exceptional characteristics of the building to be acquired and its location in the heart of the city centre brought together the expertise of Borenius’ Real Estate and Projects & Environment teams.
