The European Commission rejected the complaint against Suomen Viljava Oy

Borenius advised successfully fully state-owned Suomen Viljava Oy, Finland’s largest service company specialising in the processing and storage of grains and agribulk raw materials for companies operating in grain export and import business, vis-à-vis the European Commission on investigation stemming from a state aid complaint concerning the establishment and operations of Viljava’s subsidiary Oat Mill Finland Oy, a major future contributor to global grain trade export markets. The complaint was lodged by the Finnish Food Industry Association on November 2021 and supported by the Lithuanian Association of Grain Processors on February 2022. The European Commission decided on October 2024 that investment in question did not involve state aid.
